NLHHN + NavNet Present: Our Accessible Communities
Thank you to all who joined us for our latest virtual session of presentations and conversation around accessibility in our communities.
We were joined by 3 presenters from community organizations:

Nancy Reid, from the Coalition of Persons with Disabilities NL who will be shared who COD-NL is and what they do – Educating us around full inclusion and how accessibility is fundamental to participation in society and their work to advance an inclusive and equitable society for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

Amanda Lush, from EmpowerNL, provided an overview of services and activities offered at EmpowerNL and details of services available through InclusionNL.

Sandra Cunning from Universal Design Network Newfoundland and Labrador who shared UD principles and applications, and highlighted the benefits and applicability of UD. They also shared some the work they have done with the City of St. John’s and the resources they co-developed that are available to the public related to Home Building.

We had an excellent turn out and had some requests to have the material recorded. In support of making learning accessible we’ve made the session and the materials that were shared available!
